The Moto3 Austrian Grand Prix certainly does not start in the simplest way possible, the Red Bull Ring welcomed the paddock of the world championship with bad weather and the rain hit the circuit during the night and in the early morning, forcing the drivers to take to the track in treacherous conditions due to the wet asphalt.
In these cases it is experience that allows us to extricate ourselves and it is in fact Andrea Migno who wins at the end of the first free practice session. The driver Snipers stopped the clock at 1’50 “378, going to sign the best time in front of Daniel Holgado. The references of this session are not exactly true due to the weather conditions. The Spaniard pays two tenths and a half from the top and precedes Tatsuki Suzuki, third with the first of the two Leopards.
The Japanese accuse a significant delay from Migno and go over seven tenths of a gap, with a ranking that is not too short at the end of FP1. Behind Suzuki we find Deniz Oncu, who instead approaches the Leopard team rider and is fourth. The Turkish precedes Sergio Garcia: the new world leader falls, but manages to take fifth position, without taking too many risks.
In difficult conditions, Dennis Foggia also prefers to remain cautious, who is relaunching himself with a view to the title and at the end of FP1 is seventh, behind Ivan Ortola, fresh from renewal with the Angeluss MTA Racing team. David Munoz closes the first free practice session in eighth position ahead of Diogo Moreira. The rookie is ninth and precedes Izan Guevara, who is also very cautious in the first round and only tenth. The Spaniard of the GasGas team is the first rider to go beyond the second behind the top.
If Migno and Foggia are the two Italians in the top 10, for the others you have to scroll down the rankings: Stefano Nepa is 11th, while Alberto Surra is only 18th and precedes Riccardo Rossi, 19th. Complicated weekend start for Elia Bartolini, 22nd. Nicola Carraro is penultimate and 29th, but it is only his second weekend in the world championship.
