His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, met Professor Klaus Schwab, founder and president of the World Economic Forum, at the headquarters of Expo 2020 Dubai.
His Highness stressed that looking to the future and working to formulate its paths and directions represents the most important pillar of the UAE’s visions, and its constant quest to ensure a better tomorrow for future generations in the country, the region and the world.
His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum said: All governments share the responsibility for the future, and platforms such as the World Economic Forum and Expo represent the appropriate mechanisms for discussion about the future of humanity.
His Highness added: “From Expo 2020 Dubai, we celebrate 50 years of the founding of the World Economic Forum and its achievements, and 50 years of the founding of the UAE… We share a single vision aimed at stimulating minds and transforming ideas into action plans and initiatives that chart our journey to the future.”

During the meeting, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum decorated Professor Klaus Schwab and the scarf of Mohammed bin Rashid, in a special honor for this prominent international figure, for his great role in leading the World Economic Forum over 50 years, during which the Forum achieved many achievements and successes.
His Highness, with Professor Klaus Schwab, reviewed the axes and topics of the “Dialogue on Major Directions for the Future”, and ways to build on the results and outputs of the dialogue in developing a clear action plan that governments can benefit from and build on to enhance their ability to participate in the global journey in its journey to the future, and keep pace with the rapid changes brought about by development. The meeting comes within the framework of Professor Klaus Schwab’s visit to the UAE, to participate in the Dialogue on Major Directions for the Future, which is being held in partnership between the UAE government and the World Economic Forum, on November 11 and 12, with the participation of Emirati ministers and officials, and 50 elite thinkers, specialists and future scientists, with the aim of participating Visions and ideas for the long-term future of vital sectors.
