The enthusiasm of the restart of the action on the track and the happiness in restarting the engines leave room for pain and mourning today. Jakub Gurecky passed away following a fatal accident. The reigning Northen Talent Cup champion did not make it and dies at the age of 16 from injuries sustained in an accident while training with his Ohvale.
Gurecky was due to make his debut in the Red Bull Rookies Cup just this year and was one of the riders who aroused great interest. The young Czech driver was in fact considered a huge talent, and it was thought he could have a bright future on two wheels. In his last season in the Northen Talent Cup he had won four wins and five podiums (two second and three third places), eventually winning the title with the JRT Brno Circuit team’s KTM.
But fate has decided differently and once again motorcycling comes to terms with its harsh reality that has hit it too many times in recent times: Gurecky is only the latest in chronological order. Before him, in 2021 the two wheels mourned the death of Jason Dupasquier, Moto3 rider, of Hugo Millan, engaged in the CEV, and of Dean Berta Vinales, who raced in the Supersport 300 world championship.
The news of Jakub Gurecky’s death appeared on his own social profile, in which the message is reported in the first person. A poignant way of telling what happened, with a black and white photo and a caption in Czech that reads: “Friends, I was very happy to be here with you, I loved it, even if it was only for a short time. , only 16 years old. The dreams I had came true. Have fun and think of me sometimes ”.
The entire Motorsport.com editorial team gathers around family, friends and his team, offering their deepest condolences.
