The renowned journalist Jeff Passan of the ESPN chain announced that the Japanese star of Los Angeles Angels shōhei ohtanireached an agreement with the team to avoid salary arbitration, imposing a record figure of 30 million dollars as his salary for the following season in Major League Baseball (MLB).
Ohtani, who will become a free agent after the 2023 season in the Major Leagues, thus got the highest salary a player has received in history to avoid salary arbitration.
This new agreement for the Japanese star of the Angels, comes in the middle of a streak of 15 consecutive games for Ohtani hitting at least one hit, and after an outing in which he almost left without allowing any hit (2 hits received), and struck out 10 batters.
unique baseball player
Shohei Ohtani is the current Most Valuable Player of the American League last year, and could well repeat this year, since as a pitcher, he has figures of 15 wins, fourth best in the AL, with 213 strikeouts, third best, and 2.35 ERA, fourth best.
On the other hand, Ohtani, who stands out equally with the wood, adds 34 home runs in the year, fourth best figure in the American League, with 94 RBI, seventh best in his league.
