In the midst of a crisis for having lost 12 consecutive games in the current season of the Major League Baseball (MLB), Los Angeles Angels have made the decision to fire joe maddon of his position as manager.
With information from the Associated Press (AP), it was learned that the third base coach phil nivinwill take over temporarily for tonight’s game against the Boston Red Sox.
After 3 seasons with the Los Angeles team, Maddon has left the position he had always dreamed of, with a record of 130 wins and 148 losses. The now former Angels coach has been 3 times Coach of the Year and has won 2 World Seriesone as a coach in the Angels in his first stint in 2002, and the other 2016 when he broke the 108-year streak without winning the Chicago Cubs World Series as manager.

According to journalist Jeff Passan from ESPN, the Angels two weeks ago had a record of 27 wins and 17 losses, the eighth best record in the entire MLB, and were on their way to qualifying for the postseason for the first time since the 2014.
Today they are with a record of the same 27 wins but with 29 losses, now being the fifteenth ‘best’ record in all of the Major Leagues, outside of playoff positions.
