Mike Tyson’s words
In a chat with Mexican Henry Cejudo, former UFC champion -for the sports podcast ‘The Fight Card’-, boxer Mike Tyson stated that he disagreed with the Irishman returning to competition so soon.
Tyson argued that McGregor should prepare better before entering the ring since, if he enters such a strong fight at once, he will risk injuring himself again: “Even if he wins, he’s going to get injured in the next fight and he won’t be able to fight in the next (match).”
The boxer also took into account that the Irishman has faced many defeats recently: “I am a firm believer that after a loss you have to do a couple of fights to get into a rhythm. Conor, I think you should get your confidence up first and then go do what you do best, win in an exciting way.”
In the interview, Cejudo suggested that McGregor compete against Tony Ferguson first, as he has also lost a number of fights lately and it would be a good opportunity for the Irishman to get more into fighting.

However, Tyson contradicted this idea, explaining that “it’s hard to beat that guy. He shouldn’t fight such a strong opponent, let him participate in three fights and regain his confidence first.
