The singles midsummer program at Hotel Nuuksio included sauna, dancing, games and karaoke.
In the afternoon after three o’clock the sun is warm in the courtyard of Hotel Nuuksio in Espoo on the shores of Lake Siikajärvi on Midsummer Saturday.
A play is played next to the main building. There is a group of interviewers in front of the beach sauna. Rowing boats are also in use.
A single party organized by the Single Events community is underway. The event, which began on Midsummer’s Eve and ends on Sunday, is intended for Singles. Hotel Nuuksio is fully booked for them.
The single party is now being held for the fourth time. In the previous three years, the event was at Kiljava in Nurmijärvi.
The sun warmed those who went to the singles party on Saturday.
The event organizer Sari Suvanto says there are a total of 115 participants. About half of them are men and half are women.
“The event is sold out. Participants are between 45 and 50 years old on average. There are a few 30-year-olds, and a couple of the participants are older, ”Suvanto describes.
Although it is happening around the hotel, according to Suvanto, there is a quieter moment going on.
“Many participants seem to be resting in their rooms right after lunch.”
On Midsummer’s Eve, the program included dining, sauna, dancing and karaoke. It was the turn of Saturday for the same program. In addition to the play and rowing already played in the main building, it is also possible to play boules, tennis, frisbee golf and badminton – or chat in various clubs.
“Every participant can do whatever they want,” Suvanto sums up the nature of the event.
“It’s hot and it has been comfortable, ”says those who have been playing wood Checkmate. Matti only wants to appear in the story with his first name.
“There’s a social gang here, I’m familiar with both old and young.”
Matti says that he came to the event on the recommendation of a friend.
“I can always receive it,” Matti answers the question of whether he is looking for a more lasting follow-up to the event.
Taina (left) and Katriina say that the most important thing in a single party is to be together.

Taina has been celebrating singles before. Now he says he has jogged several times in the nearby terrain.
“It’s nice to meet friends here. There are new and old. ”
Katriina says she danced a lot on the eve.
“I danced all evening. Everyone will dance when asked. Decent place. There are meals, a beach and a sauna. There are friends for every departure, ”he sums up.
Katriina and Taina do not have specific goals to find a more lasting company after the single.
“There is no real goal to find a company. By the way, the intention is just to have a nice time, ”says Taina.
“Comforting together is the most important thing,” Katriina adds.
Petri was playing in the singles party.
Beach sauna on the outskirts will come Petri, which is one of the youngest participants in the event. Also, he only wants to introduce himself with his first name. Petri says that the single party went really well.
“On the eve there was an introductory event, then there was dining and a sauna as well as dancing and karaoke. Frisbee golf, clubs and tennis have also been on my program. ”
Petri thinks the event is communal. He says he rode in different groups at the event.
“The wish would be to find someone. Maybe I’m a little too young, ”Petri thinks.
When Singles get together, people find each other. The organizer of the event, Sari Suvanto, does not directly sign the statement.
He thinks single celebration is not a “mating camp”. However, some relationships have emerged in the event.
“In 2019, I got to know each other at the singles party Jarmo and Julia moved in the following year and got engaged in 2021. A relationship that has lasted for about six months has also developed in single celebration, ”Suvanto knows.
