Artificial intelligence continues to try to enter the video game industry in different ways, and one of the companies that is in favor of this implementation is Microsoft. New Copilot features, the company’s answer to Google’s Gemini AI and ChatGPT support apps, were revealed during a presentation today. where we can see an interaction with Minecraft.
As part of today’s presentation, Microsoft gave us an extensive look at the new features of Copilot, and one of these is directly related to video games, since it shows us a search system that reacts in real time to the players’ wishes. To exemplify this, a Minecraft video with integrated artificial intelligence was revealed.
In the test video you can see how a player uses natural language to ask questions like “How do I create a sword?” Immediately, Copilot searches the user’s chests and inventories for the necessary materials, and if he does not have them, he will guide the players. It will also explain how to prepare the article, and all the additional details.
At the moment it is unknown when Copilot will be implemented in Xbox games. Howeverthe demo makes it clear that this will be similar to simply searching the internet for the required information, only in real time and without leaving the game, something that could be liked by many. On related topics, Ninja Theory is already working on its next game. Likewise, Xbox will change the Game Pass model.
Author’s Note:
Copilot sounds very similar to what PlayStation Plus does, in the sense that they both offer information to achieve certain objectives. However, in the case of PlayStation this only applies to trophies, and with Copilot it seems that we can search for everything in an instant.
