Microsoft unveiled new Copilot AI capabilities accompanying the Surface Laptop 6 and Surface Pro 10 devices.
Microsoft is among the main players in the artificial intelligence segment, as well as a fundamental partner of OpenAI: the collaboration with the Californian company is the basis of Microsoft Copilot, the virtual assistant increasingly integrated into Windows 11, in the Edge browser and in the Office 365.
With Surface Laptop 6 And Surface Pro 10, the Redmond giant has introduced devices that leverage AI to increase productivity and improve performance. We were at the event to present the new features of Microsoft Copilot in Milan, here's how it went.
The new Surface AI PCs
Milan Design Week was the stage for the Italian presentation of the new Surface devices for companies that integrate AI features.
Surface 10 Pro for Business and Surface Laptop 6 for Business are indeed available for the Italian market and are accompanied by the new Intel Core Ultra processors with NPU and the new button dedicated to Microsoft Copilot. The new proposal for the companies of the Redmond giant It focuses entirely on the support of computing units dedicated to artificial intelligence and on the features integrated into its services, from Windows 11 to the Microsoft 365 package.
Surface Pro 10 promises performance up to 53% faster than its predecessor, while Surface Laptop 6 doubles the speed compared to Surface Laptop 6, with improvements that – thanks to artificial intelligence – extend to battery life and security.
It should be underlined, however, that, beyond the AI integrations already available in the Office package and the Edge browser, at the moment the button dedicated to Copilot does not bring any advantages: Microsoft is working on the complete integration of AI into its devices and over the next few months we will start to see new features reachable directly from the Windows 11 interface.
Design and attention to the environment
He spoke during the event Carl LedbetterChief of Design of Xbox, who over the years has contributed to shaping the shapes of the consoles of the green-crusader house, as well as the Surface devices and the famous Hololens headset.
Ledbetter spoke about the attention that Microsoft places in the development of its products, trying to give identity to the devices and accessories that accompany them, in the name of versatility and sustainability: the company led by Satya Nadella has in fact undertaken a path of safeguarding of the environment that leverages AI to achieve zero carbon dioxide emissions.
