Mexico conquers the Guinness record for longest live travel broadcast; lasted 40 hours

The trip, which began on February 21 and crossed locations as diverse as Tokyo, Japan, and Istanbul, Turkey, and although the Guinness Record was set for 40 hours, the Ministry of Tourism (Sectur) transmitted for more than 55 hours.

The owner of Sectur He highlighted in a post-trip conference the joint efforts of the federal government and the private sector to rebuild and revive this important tourist destination.

The validation of the record by the Guinness World Records adjudicator, Susana Reyes, officially confirmed that the transmission had a duration of 40 hours, 2 minutes and 20 seconds, thus securing the record title for Mexico.

The event, broadcast through Sectur's social networks, had the support of airlines such as All Nippon Airways and Turkish Airlines, as well as diplomatic figures such as the Ambassador of Japan in Mexico, Noriteru Fukushima.

By surpassing the previous record set by a Philippine mobile phone brand, which broadcast for 26 hours, Mexico consolidated its position as a leader in tourism promotion worldwide.

In addition, during the more than 55 hours of uninterrupted transmission, various activities were carried out that included interviews, reports and promotional presentations that highlighted the cultural, gastronomic and folkloric richness not only of Acapulco, but also of other Mexican destinations.

Torruco Marqués himself stressed the importance of this achievement, pointing out that this trip represented a trip around the world in 41 hours of effective flight.

Additionally, he highlighted progress in Acapulco's recovery since the devastation caused by Hurricane Otis, noting the increase in hotel room availability and infrastructure projects underway, such as the construction of a new racetrack and the complete restoration of the stadium. where the Tennis Open is held.

Looking to the future, the head of Sectur mentioned the interest of investors in the Interoceanic Train, a project that promises to further boost the economic development of the region.
