On January 25, 2019, Shinya Takahashi, Senior Executive Director of Nintendo, revealed that the development of Metroid Prime 4 it had completely rebooted, admitting that their progress thus far was not meeting the expected standards of the franchise.
Of course, the news was devastating for fans of Metroid Around the world, however, it was also accompanied by very good news. The game was returning at the hands of Retro studios, and its producer, Kensuke tanbabe, promised that the title would be a worthy installment of the series of Metroid Prime. Well, a thousand days have passed since that message.
Since then, Retro studios It’s been recruiting a ton of talented developers, but other than that, we haven’t had any news about it. In theory, more than four years have passed since Metroid Prime 4 was announced, but at least you can now calm your cravings with Metroid Dread.
Editor’s note: It is certainly disappointing not to have any information related to the project, but that is preferable to having to wait years for a release date and constantly being delayed. I trust the folks at Retro Studios know what they’re doing.
