Edomex.- At the invitation of the President of Mexico, Andres Manuel Lopez Obradorthe municipal president of Ahome, Gerardo Octavio Vargas Landeros, attended the delivery-reception ceremony and start of operations of the “Felipe Angeles” International Airport (AIFA).
The great event took place this Monday morning and was led by President López Obrador and General Luis Cresencio Sandoval González, Secretary of National Defense of Mexico.
The place was also attended by the Governor of Sinaloa, Ruben Rocha Moyaas well as other governors and mayors.

The President of Mexico affirmed that the start of operations on the promised date is “a mission accomplished” for the benefit of the people of Mexico.
“It is finished, you can now get to the airport from anywhere in the city (…) and it will be delivered to the people of Mexico because it is a work of the people, built by workers and for the benefit of the nation,” said López Obrador.
For his part, the mayor of Ahome, Gerardo Vargas Landeros, expressed his appreciation to the Mexican Army for its work in the construction of this great work, highlighting that they delivered the airport in a timely manner with the same budget that was assigned to them from the beginning, investment entirely from the Government of Mexico.
“Today is a big day for Mexico with the inauguration of the Felipe Ángeles International Airport, a magnum opus that the President of the Republic delivers to the country today,” Vargas Landeros mentioned.

From an early hour, the first flight was registered by the Vivaerobus airline, which was destined for the city of Monterrey, Nuevo León.
