A year after the death of ‘Friends’ actor Matthew Perry at age 54, his mother, Suzanne Morrison, has given an interview in which he revealed a worrying conversation he had with his son shortly before he died.
In a preview of his interview with Today, Morrison explained that it seemed that Perry apparently had a premonition of what was going to happen to him. “He came up to me and said, ‘I love you very much and I’m very happy to be with you now,'” he recalled.
«It was almost like it was a premonition of something. I didn’t think about it at the time, but I thought, ‘How long has it been since we had a conversation like that? It’s been years,’” he added.
«I think there was something… There was an inevitability in what was going to happen to him, and he felt it very strongly. But he said, ‘I’m not afraid anymore.’ And that worried me,” continued the interpreter’s mother. In the interview, the actor’s mother was accompanied by her husband, Keith Morrison, and other Perry relatives.
Suzanne stated during the conversation that Perry He was always “very lonely”. Likewise, her husband added that the interpreter’s external image “hid an insecure, often very sad guy.”
Regarding her drug addiction, the actor’s mother has lamented: “I am a very lucky woman, but there was a problem, there was a problem that I couldn’t overcome, I couldn’t help him.”
«What Matthew taught the world is that no amount of money will cure an addict. Something more is needed and that’s what we’re trying to do,” Keith added. The family continues the star’s legacy in the fight against drugs through the Matthew Perry Foundation.
