Mexico City.- The national leader of the PAN, Marko Cortés, demanded that elected senators not allow themselves to be bought by the 4T in the upcoming reforms, including the Judiciary.
“(It was requested) solidity, strength, from all the legislators who have this enormous responsibility starting September 1, so that no one allows themselves to be bought, convinced, intimidated, and then we can take care of balances and counterweights in the country.
“Then (he demanded) from each and every legislator, firmness, and courage in the face of the circumstances that clearly come from September,” he said.
According to the latest data from the INE, with the distribution of multi-member seats, Morena and its allies would have a qualified majority in the Chamber of Deputies for constitutional reforms, but in the Senate they would lack two senators, so they could get them from other benches.
That same message, he indicated, will be given to the elected federal deputies, with whom he will also meet virtually this Wednesday.
He stated that he made it clear that the immediate battle is to avoid the overrepresentation of the 4T in the Chamber of Deputies.
“There cannot be overrepresentation in the Chamber of Deputies, that is the spirit of the Constituent Assembly, no overrepresentation of anyone above eight percent, nor underrepresented below eight percent,” he added.
