After the revelation by Activision Blizzard of his Diversity Space Toola video of a 2017 GDC presentation appeared online.
In the video, the presenters of the instrument apply their findings to the series of Nintendo.
Apparently the game lacks diversity in sexual abilities and orientation, as the characters are not disabled and are assumed to be all straight.
However, the presenters praise the siblings being Italian and also praise the age range, as well as Mario’s short build type.
The video was shared on social media, with several users heavily criticizing the presentation.
If you ever wondered how Mario characters would land on Acti-Blizz’s diversity chart, look no further. This shit is genuinely hysterical. pic.twitter.com/K6GdDe7HO4

When Activision Blizzard revealed the tool over the weekend, the post on the official blog of the company notes that development began in 2016, but has been in beta testing for the past few months.
This video from 2017 suggests that the tool has been in use (or at least has been tested) for the longest time.
The tool has been heavily criticized by the industry, particularly by Activision Blizzard staff. Overwatch 2 senior game designer Dylan Snyder said his team hadn’t used the tool because they hadn’t even heard of it.
Others online have noticed that this Diversity Space Tool reduces diversity to a checklist.
