Google AI Overview, the new service from the Mountain View company based on artificial intelligence, is giving very particular results to those who use it to do research. For example, did you know that many Pokémon they are part of the community LGBTQ+?
Google AI Overview essentially uses AI to answer user searches, stealing content from different sources that try to answer the same questions. Unfortunately, he still doesn’t know how to make accurate distinctions, so he lumps together posts on Reddit, satirical articles and memes, considering them as news. The results are often hilarious, at least for those who know how to distinguish truth from fiction. For others it can represent a big problem, because it is essentially false information.
Among the results reported there are for example the use of non-toxic glue to prevent the cheese from escaping from the pizza, a practice recommended by the scientist Fucksmith on Reddit, evidently the author of numerous scientific studies on the subject.
And Pokémon?
Of course there are ridiculous results for the world of video games too. Pokémon fans have reported several of them, after discovering that some monsters belong to the LGBTQ+ community. Nothing wrong with that, if it were true. Maybe it is, who can say?
A fan asked Overview if there are any LGBTQ+ characters in Pokemon Horizons, receiving negative responses. And the rest of the series? According to Overview, “some people” say Bulbasaur is a “plant-loving queer who often says ‘Mother Earth,'” Butterfree is a “strong trans woman who helps the player’s team at the beginning of the game” and Ditto is a ” genderqueer and gender nonconforming brother who has escaped the gender binary.”
These people would actually only be one, which is an article in Out Magazine titled “21 Pokémon That Are Totally, Absolutely, Definitely Queer.” So how can you doubt it? After doing research firsthand, the source found Mewtwo to be a “very cultured older gay man.” Perfect description.
