Manuel Bortuzzo talks about the problems he experiences due to disability. Alfonso Signorini does not hold back the emotion
Manuel Bortuzzoduring the semifinal, is invited by Alfonso Signorini in the studio to tell his life and his difficulties related to his disability. Throughout his career in reality TV, Manuel has always shown himself to be positive and charged in dealing with any problem. Today the boy explains in detail what it means for a disabled person to face everyday life.
Manuel Bortuzzo starts with a premise: “I consider the GF Vip a won challenge. I believe that by showing the everyday life, the normality of a disabled boy, I may have shown many small things that perhaps we did not know before. I prefer the term disabled to the disabled, because things must be said as they are, without fear. There is nothing wrong with that ”.
Then go into specifics and tells about the challenges that life of every day poses in front: “Maybe if it happens with friends you make a laugh, if you are there with your girlfriend, it makes you feel bad, you feel humiliated”.
AND tell what you need do even just to take the train: “You have to call first, ask for assistance. These are things that limit you mentally, do not make you feel master of yourself “.
And reveals: “It is not your fault that you are in a wheelchair and you should be able to get to where everyone goes because you have nothing less than the others”. Alfonso Signorini asks if somehow the state subsidy is sufficient to cover the expenses that a boy in his situation has to bear.
Here Bortuzzo clarifies: “How much do I get from the state? Little and nothing, compared to what my needs are. They give me a pension of 200 euros plus the accompanying allowance, with which I would have to live for a month and maybe just the medicines cost more than 500 euros “.
Finally, he concludes by saying: “They don’t allow you to feel comfortable. I’m lucky because I work and have my family or I would be doomed, but there are much more difficult situations “.
