Who said Detox? Rosa María Santisteban’s debut feature is a story that emerged in the pandemic. It is about a young lawyer and her family’s support, who will be involved in a bet to win an account in the studio where she works because if she doesn’t, she will be fired from her. The plot also presents the importance that social networks have gained today. It hits theaters this March 10.
The cast includes Luciana Blomberg, Jimena Lindo, Korina Rivadeneira, Gachi Rivero, Andrés Vílchez, Francisco Andrade, José Dammert, Ximena Rodríguez and Maju Mantilla. Miss World 2006 gives life to Tati, a character who becomes her first leading role in the cinema.
“What little I have done in acting has something good and that is that all my characters are different. In ‘VBQ’ I was the villain, in ‘I’ll find you again’ I was a person with relationship problems. Then I filmed a movie that hasn’t been released yet, Fat World, where I’m a slightly extroverted, unpleasant woman, a woman of character. and here in Who said Detox? I am the opposite. Tati is sweet, she believes that everyone has a good energy when many times they don’t. She trusts people a lot, ”says the also host of ‘En boca de todos’.

What are you discovering with acting?
For me to act is to fully understand the story I’m telling. It is to fully understand my character, my environment, it is to have the character alive in the moment, it is to be there and, excuse the redundancy, to live that moment. It’s not easy to make movies in our country and being called to a casting makes me happy, fills me with hope. There are not so many opportunities because the market is not big, but the competition is because we have good players.
During the pandemic have you been able to continue studying?
Before the pandemic I ran two laboratories. One with Miguel Isa, which was a monologue workshop, and another with Norma Martínez. Now I’m looking at other workshops to sign up.
The film talks about social networks. Has being in charge of a program at noon, from Monday to Friday, taken away some of your privacy in that regard?
For being a public figure, yes. We are exposed and on social networks we have followers that we do not know, we do not know their intentions and many times it has happened to me that I have shared nice things about myself and my family and the comments have been out of place. And that’s why I try not to expose so much of my stuff. Intimacy and privacy is so beautiful and valuable at the same time that it is better to think about it and not expose so much.
YOU CAN SEE: Tula Rodríguez was not in the leadership of On everyone’s lips and sent a message: “I love you very much”
And what do you think of Luciana Fuster, who reported being a victim of bullying and feared falling into depression?
It’s unfortunate, especially them, the ‘reality boys‘ who are so well known and whose lives are quite attractive. I understand what happens with Luciana because she is a young girl. She started on television when she was still in college. She is on TV and she also does radio and is well exposed and her relationship is also exposed. She has over four million followers on Instagram, and well, not everyone can like her. Some people love you, others don’t. But I instill that there should be a lot of respect, and if there is criticism, let it be without insults or mockery. That type of violence on social networks must stop for me, that must not be allowed, we must be very respectful. No type of violence should be accepted.
