The president of Venezuela, Nicolas Maduro, This Friday he appointed Alex Saabconsidered as his front man, as new Minister of Industry and National Production. The objective is to promote a “new economic model.”
“I appointed Alex Saab as the new Minister of Popular Power for Industry and National Production. I am sure that with his great management capacity and commitment to our people, will promote the development of the entire industrial system of Venezuela“, he pointed out.
The Venezuelan president has reported this news on his television channel. Telegramwhere has transferred all its support to Saab before “the immense task that has to be accomplished.” In January, Maduro already appointed Saab as president of the International Center for Productive Investment.
Saab was arrested in June 2020 during a stopover in Cape Verde and later He was extradited to the United States accused of money laundering. In December 2023, the White House announced the release of a dozen Venezuelan prisoners, including Saab.
