Lorenzo Pellegrini, captain of Roma football team and midfielder of the Italian national team, was falsely accused by a Romanian escort of stalking. This is what emerged in the investigation of the carabinieri who, yesterday, carried out a search at the home of the woman, resident in Parma, acquiring her cell phone. The 24-year-old is under investigation on charges of slander and defamation. The young escort had claimed to have met the footballer for several months, from January to July 2023. Over time – the 24-year-old had told exclusively to Fabrizio Corona’s dillingernews.it website -, the behavior of the midfielder and the Roma player would become obsessive to the point of generating anxiety and worries in her. For this reason a complaint was filed against Pellegrini. However, the Carabinieri’s investigations revealed the “total groundlessness of the reconstruction” of the 24-year-old.

For this reason, the ‘ball’ now passes to the prosecutors of the capital who, in light of the new investigation, could forward a request for dismissal to the investigating judge. “I had to waste three minutes of my day to read the article published on an Instagram reporting channel invented news on my account”, Pellegrini had written on his Instagram profile, intervening to deny the accusations of stalking.
