In the video posted on Instagram, the chef reconstructs the entire story on social media, starting from the moment the restaurateur's response to a review went viral. In this review, a customer complained about having to eat next to a same-sex couple and a person with a disability. The restaurateur would have taken the couple's defense and harshly reprimanded the customer who complained. The case broke out on social media he saw Lucarelli talking about a real “advertising move”, therefore a fake, of the restaurateur to ingratiate herself with many people and show off.
Lorenzo Biagiarelli claims to have simply tried to dismantle the issue, referring to article 21 of the Constitution which guarantees the right of expression to every citizen. He also criticizes television, newspapers and social media, guilty of lashing out against him and his partner, as being responsible for thewave of hatred against Giovanna Pedretti.

Because if I did I would be yet another person who uses his death for his own advantage, in my case to rehabilitate myself, sprinkling ash on my head and begging for mercy from the public square. I rather prefer to keep the stigma, the doubt, the suspicion, rather than try the path of pity, affirming something that I don't think. And I will calmly accept all the consequences of this choice.
Currently, the Lodi Prosecutor's Office is conducting an investigation for incitement to suicide of the woman. It is speculated that the damage to her reputation contributed to her actions.
