Turkey captain Salih Özcan presented his team’s entry into the Euro 2024 competition, this Tuesday in Dortmund (west) against Georgia, “as a home game.”

“It will be special for me to play in that stadium. I really hope it is red and white on Tuesday, it will be an extraordinary match that we want to win,” continued the Borussia Dortmund player. Born in Germany, Özcan, 25, played at various youth levels for the German national team before deciding to represent Turkey.
Turkey’s Italian coach, Vincenzo Montella, for his part, wants his team to make history in Turkish football. “Türkiye has never won the first game of a European Championship or a World Cup,” he recalled.
“We had not won in Germany for 72 years (3-2 in a friendly in November 2023), we had not beaten Croatia (1-0 in the qualifying phase in the
Euro 2024 in October 2023), it is the year of first times and this can continue,” he hoped.
The match is played from 11 am Colombian time.
