That the saga of Like a Dragon is particular, we know it very well by now. We are talking about a series that has been able to reinvent itself several times, without narrative or genre limits. If in fact it is possible to live an adventure of a Kiryu who goes into hiding and becomes a kind of secret agent, then anything is possible. Also have a plausible reason for Ichiban Kasuga to go to Hawaii. In fact, if this incipit might seem not very descriptive, in reality it immediately finds coherence with what happens, proposing this to us Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth: here is our review.
The emotion of a lifetime
Starting from the plot, Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth It exploits the idea of two dragons meeting in its infinite symbol. On the one hand we have Ichiban Kasugaalready seen in Yakuza: Like a Dragonwhich brought with it a breath of fresh air, a story to discover (and a renewed gameplay), on the other “returns” Kazuma Kiryualready known in the other countless chapters of the series and taken directly from Like a Dragon Gaiden: The Man Who Erased His Name.
The two protagonists will meet in this new plot to discover in Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth, in a very particular way but consistent with the series, giving all fans an acclaimed continuation and a welcome return. The dynamic of the encounter between the two dragons, with their unique stories and personalities, develops into an engaging narrative plot, fueled by the surprising twists of the plot.
The characters, however, are not only these two dragons: as already in Yakuza: Like a Dragon, Ichiban will be able to rely on other comrades, and therefore different professions and different skills, which must be modified and adapted depending on the battle. This variety of characters helps to further enrich the plot and offer multiple perspectives on the events that take place in the world of Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth.
The presence of all these peculiar characterstogether with the various supporting and secondary characters that we meet, actually generates a series of decidedly deeper dynamics, remedying the partial detachment that had existed when we moved from Kiryu to Ichiban, and proposing that link that perhaps it would have been optimal to have in the previous title. The interaction between characters, with their personal stories and group dynamics, adds a layer of emotional depth to the game, engaging the player more intensely.
Role (maintenance) game
In terms of gameplay, there aren't many new features, but they are definitely targeted. First of all, now the team members will be able to be moved during the turn in a totally free way, so as to give a further strategic facet to the clashes. This freedom of movement during combat opens up new tactical possibilitiesallowing players to plan and execute more complex and customized strategies.
The bar also adds further meat to the fire Euphoriawhich will fill during battles and allow you to unleash devastating attacks team attacks. The introduction of this mechanic adds an extra element of strategy to combat, encouraging players to carefully manage resources and make the most of their characters' abilities.
The total freedom that a game like is even more evident Like a Dragon can propose: in your adventure you will be able to communicate with allies and helping people that you will find around, so as to contribute to the growth of the individual's skills and to unlock new useful features. This open, interactive approach to narrative and side quests allows players to fully immerse themselves in the game world and actively influence the development of the story.
There are also countless activities, since the return of the Sujimon – caricature of Pokémon – up to the challenges Crazy Delivery, Miss Match, Karaoke and many more. The wide range of optional activities helps create a richer and more varied game world, giving players the chance to explore and enjoy beyond the main story.
Twice
We all love Kamurochobad Hawaii of Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth are spectacular! Let's talk about one large map three times the Japanese city, which not only will offer many ideas for missions to discover, but will also be fully visitable thanks to the trusted one Segways (or using taxis). The geographic expansion of the map opens up new opportunities for exploration and adventure, giving players a vast territory to discover and conquer.
The weather will then change dynamically, and every single glimpse that you can see will precisely try to reproduce the style and atmosphere typical of the Hawaii. The attention to detail in the depiction of Hawaii adds a level of realism and immersion to the game, transporting players to an exotic and fascinating environment.
Another area to discover (from chapter 6) is the Dondoko Island, a resort to take over and rebuild from scratch, taking advantage of what is on the island and what we can recover ourselves. This new area adds a management dimension to the game, allowing players to actively participate in the growth and improvement of an entire island. There will be enemies to chase away, resources to recover and much more to do, but to all intents and purposes this sort of maxi-mini-mission will give you an additional management field to experience within Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth (plus some revenue once you open it to the public).
The movement then from Japan at Hawaii proposes a sort of different perspective on some characters: the most obvious remains that of Ichiban, which precisely because of what will lead him to visit the American archipelago, will show itself with sides that we had not yet discovered. The setting in Hawaii not only offers a variety of picturesque backgroundsbut also a change in the social and cultural context, allowing players to explore new facets of the characters in a different and stimulating environment.
