Since the emergence of Women’s MX League on 2016, it has been said that there is an abyss in terms of the relationship with the salary that men earn, as well as the machismo that unfortunately prevails in Mexican society. Precisely, one of the pioneers of women’s football and former member of the first Women’s National Team, Alice Vargas He said for the ESPN network that this factor is reflected in the distribution of the schedules.
“There’s still a lot sexism, it is seen in the tickets because there is not as much support as you would like, but it is also a matter of the work of the clubs themselves and, above all, the schedules they have for the games, which are very disparate. Sometimes at 10, at 2, during the week at 4 or 5 in the afternoon, 7 at night, well, it’s very difficult. The most comfortable is at 9 at night, because since everyone goes to work, it is very difficult for them to want to stay awake to support women’s soccer, ”he said.

“There is no comparison of the time that we had to play, because in reality it was something never seen before, it was an invasion of a manly sport. In our time it was very difficult and different, because apart from the fact that we were girls and that there was no women’s league, there was no support from anything. Those who can lead it, (whether) without any personal benefit, but in general for what is going to be instituted, to be able, at a certain moment, to help those who do certain things to them or who leave them without a contract, just because they don’t they like them, let it be something of Mexico and that they work without any interest, so that these girls can really have the support”, he sentenced.
