The referendum of the British newspaper “The Guardian” did justice to the Polish striker Lewandowski of Bayern Munich, after the newspaper awarded him the title of “best” for the year 2021, a title he did not receive in the awards of “France Football” magazine, so that “Liva” outperformed Messi in the struggle for the best for the current year.
The Polish international, Robert Lewandowski, Bayern Munich striker, topped the ranking of the best players in 2021 in the referendum conducted by the British newspaper “The Guardian”, choosing the 10 best football players in the world, through the vote of 219 participants from former players, coaches and journalists to determine the “Top 10”.
Lewandowski surpassed the Argentine Lionel Messi, the star of Paris Saint-Germain, who recently won the Ballon d’Or for the best player in the world in 2021, in choosing France Football magazine, which sparked a lot of controversy due to the choice of “Flea”, while “Liva” was his runner-up, and Mohamed Salah came in. The star of Liverpool and the Egyptian national team is in third place, followed by the French Karim Benzema, the top scorer of Real Madrid, and then the Italian Jorginho, the Chelsea player, fifth.
Frenchman Kylian Mbappe of Paris Saint-Germain fell to sixth place, behind him was Norwegian Erling Haaland of Borussia Dortmund, while Portuguese Cristiano Ronaldo of Manchester United came in eighth, then Frenchman N’Golo Kante of Chelsea, and the last Belgian Kevin de Bruyne of Manchester City.
Lewandowski and Messi are competing for the award for the best player in the world “The Best” awarded by the International Football Association “FIFA”, which is awaited by the public, and will be announced at the Best in the World Awards ceremony on January 17th.
