I tech enthusiast of Digital Foundry have published one video analysis dedicated to LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Sagafocusing in particular on the PS5, PS4 and Xbox Series X | S versions of the latest TT Games effort.
According to what is stated in the video, PS5 and Xbox Series X have two graphics modes different, one at 30fps and the other at 60fps, in both cases aiming at 2160p resolution. Series S also allows you to choose between two similar presets, but with 1296p resolution. Finally, the PS4 version runs at 1080p and 30fps, while the PS4 Pro version goes up to 2160p upscaled via checkerboarding.
With the Quality preset, Xbox Series X it stably maintains 2160p and 30fps, while in Performance mode the resolution occasionally drops to a minimum of 1800p. Similarly Series S performs very well in Quality mode, but in Performance mode at 60fps the resolution frequently drops to 1440p with recorded lows of even 1296p.
PS5 unfortunately it does not offer similar performance. The Sony flagship console with the Quality preset at 30fps fails to maintain the 2160p resolution, dropping down to 1872p, while in the 60fps one it often hovers around 1440p, even dropping to 1296p.
All next-gen versions feature the same graphics settings and feature a stable framerate on all occasions. The exception is a specific point at the beginning of the section of the movie The Force Awakens where all consoles suffer from sharp drops in fluidity.
LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga is available in stores for PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X | S, Xbox One and PC. If you haven’t done it yet, we suggest you read our review.
