“Although there is still a long way to go to guarantee women the role they deserve, I believe that the journey has begun. Today in our company the female component represents 47% compared to 43% of the pharmaceutical sector average and 29 % of other sectors. Gender equality also concerns leadership positions. 45% of top management is represented by women, as in the case of the head of personnel management and other important figures within the company business units “. Thus Federico Chinni, managing director of Ucb Pharma Italia, in commenting on the news that the group has won the Leads award in the ‘business’ category for its hiring policy oriented towards pay equity, flexibility and autonomy in organization and management of work.
A recognition for the Ucb Pharma Italia project which provides for the implementation of a series of good practices to promote a culture of equity and inclusion and enhance women in the top positions of companies operating in the life sciences sector. The award, in its first edition, was established by the Association of leading women in healthcare, conceived by Sara Vinciguerra, to promote best practices that favor female leadership in healthcare. The delivery was held a few days ago in the ‘Cosimo Piccinno’ Auditorium of the Ministry of Health and saw 27 candidate projects, with 6 winners in three categories: companies, associations, accredited public and private bodies.
