Lazio ended the best year of the calendar in its history with a 3-1 victory over Venezia, today, Wednesday, to remain in the race to qualify for the European competitions in the Italian Football League.

Pedro Rodriguez put Maurizio Sarri’s team ahead before Francesco Forte equalized with a header for 16th-placed Venezia before the break.
Francesco Acerbi put Lazio back ahead at the start of the second half, and substitute Luis Alberto scored the third goal in the last moments, moments after Venezia’s substitute Taner Tesmann was sent off.
In another match, Bologna jumped above Sassuolo in the standings to tenth place, after beating it 3-0.
Riccardo Orsolini and Aaron Hickey scored two superb goals in the first half before Federico Santander added a third near the end for the visiting team.
