Jean-Pierre certainly could not miss the Lancia Design Day Ploue, which leads the design division of the Turin brand. Even the CEO of Lancia, Luca Napolitano, praised his qualities and skills, stating that, even if starting from a blank sheet, entrusting all the new style elements to a group of talented designers led by Jean-Pierre Ploué is always synonymous with achieving an extraordinary result. For his part, even Lancia’s design manager himself didn’t hide and made his own stand out passion for our country.
“I love Italy, the driving style and its spirit for design. The most beautiful cars of the 60s were Italian. My heart is divided between tradition and modernity, but my vision as a designer has always been towards the future. It passes through modernity and technology, but it also passes through our glorious heritage which has a powerful differentiating value – his words spoken on the occasion of the Lancia Design Day – With Lancia we are lucky because we don’t have to choose between the past and the future: we can blend them together. To develop the design of the future, we started from Lancia’s roots”. The head designer of the Turin brand reiterated how the brand’s future creations will recall some forms such as the circle: the goal is to give life to a design attentive to detail and research into materials.
“Our technology will be precise and simple, an expression of form – concluded Plouè speaking of the concept Pu+Ra Zero unveiled by Lancia – We are talking about a three-dimensional poster that recalls some models of the past: we find the arched line of the Aurelia, but also the circular rear lights that recall sports cars such as the Stratos. The new goblet also is pure and technological, reinterpreted in three forms of light. It will always be integrated into the new brand expression. The circular porthole stands out at the top, which ideally connects interiors and exteriors”.
