It’s nice to know that there are people who care about the safety of existing cars. Especially when it comes to rear tires of a car that reaches four times the speed limit or if a car shows signs of pyromania. But sometimes you can also say: don’t worry so much.
Lamborghini has to recall more than 4,700 Huracán in America. The reason is the lack of a cover for the headlight adjustment. Without the hood, owners could be tempted to adjust their headlights themselves, which would be dangerous as the Huracán could dazzle oncoming traffic.
Where is the beckoning set screw?
If you open the front hood (or frunk) of the Huracán, you will see two small holes on either side. Insert an Allen key into the correct passage and you will come to the adjusting screw of the headlight. The screws are therefore not visible and the adjustment is not something you do by accident. And then we are also talking about the horizontal adjustment.
‘The horizontal adjustment of the light beam is possible thanks to the absence of a cover over the adjusting screw. The customers can reach the horizontal adjusting screw and make the adjustment themselves,” reports the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), which you can see as the RDW and the Euro NCAP of America.
The recall of the Lamborghini Huracán comes partly from the brand itself
Lamborghini brought the problem to light itself, but the American regulator decided that a recall had to be made. The lack of the cover was a human error in the Lamborghini factory. The solution to the life-threatening temptation is to place the cap. All US owners will receive a letter at home with the call to go to the dealer. He then presses a cap on the hole of the adjusting screw.
