Until now, we were used to Christian Lawyers being the headliners in the courts when it came to persecuting activists, artists, public representatives, politicians… who, making use of the right to freedom of expression, offend their religious feelings. We believed that this foundation was the natural successor to Hazte Oír in court for these types of matters, but for some reason, this week both organizations have rushed to denounce Lalachus and Broncano first.
This is not the first time they have shared a private accusation. Nor are they alone in their complaint for hate crimes and against religious feelings that they have filed against Lalachus, Broncano, RTVE and its president, José Pablo López. The far-right party Vox and the Episcopal Conference of Luis Argüello have joined forces. There remains a group of complainants who remember the inquisitors of several centuries ago in their intention to persecute and punish heretics, blasphemers and sinners (except if they are priests who abuse children). It doesn’t matter whether they win or lose the case, the victories they long for are not from the judicial world. In fact, in the case of Christian Lawyers the balance between matters won and lost in the courts (the judicial route being exhausted), comes out in very red numbers.
