The technology industry’s collective agreement expired at the end of November.

The Confederation of Finnish Industry declared a ban on overtime to the industry as an industrial action, which ended before Christmas on 19 December. No new industrial action in the sector has yet been announced, the release said.

“The Confederation of Finnish Industry will soon convene its administration. I believe and know that there will be only one kind of greeting to our negotiators. Many are already mediating vests, ”said Aalto.

According to Aalto, the Confederation of Finnish Industry has adjusted its wage increase requirements according to inflation and productivity growth.

“Now it looks like the employer wants to keep all the fruits of growth to itself. It is not for the Confederation of Finnish Industry. ”

“All elements of the salary settlement are still open, and at this stage there were no conditions to agree on a new negotiation period. However, the employer’s goal is to find a solution as soon as possible that takes into account both competitiveness and the purchasing power of employees in a responsible manner, ”Ruohoniemi says in a press release.

According to Ruohoniemi, a quick solution to the dispute is in everyone’s interest.

“The good economic situation is already leveling off and companies’ confidence in the future is weakening. So, of course, one should not weaken the situation with the uncertainty of the labor market, ”Ruohoniemi points out.

Technology industry employee contracts are due to be negotiated this week on Tuesday and Wednesday.
