Labor market Settlement proposal for the fourth business area in a paper dispute between Paperiliitto and UPM

Mediator Leo Finland on Tuesday, a settlement proposal was submitted to the fourth business area in a paper dispute between Paperiliitto and the forestry company UPM, says the office of the national mediator. The latest settlement proposal concerns UPM’s biorefinery.

The mediator has asked the parties to respond to the settlement proposal by Thursday, UPM and the Paper Association say. They have also been asked to respond to the reconciliations previously submitted for the three other business areas by Thursday.

UPM: n labor market leader Jyrki Hollménin four out of five businesses applying for a collective agreement are now under negotiation.

Conciliation has been suspended for the Printing Papers business area. According to the Paper Association, it asked the printing press to continue negotiations, but UPM’s negotiators declined the invitation.
