Zelensky’s adviser Podolyak: there are no grounds for resuming negotiations with Russia yet
Official Kyiv stated that there were no grounds for resuming negotiations with Russia. This opinion was expressed by Mikhail Podolyak, adviser to the head of the office of the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky, transmits RBC.
The politician stressed that it is difficult for Kyiv to negotiate with the Russian side, since Moscow can communicate “only in the language of ultimatums.” He said that in order to start negotiations with Russia, the Ukrainian side must recapture a significant part of the territories, including Kherson and Mariupol.
“This is Kherson, Berdyansk, access to the Azov water area, the return of Mariupol. This should not be just a tactical pushback of the Russian army, but the destruction of the maximum amount of manpower and equipment, ”Podolyak specified.
Earlier, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov commented on the possibility of a dialogue between Russia and Ukraine. According to the spokesman, neither Russian President Vladimir Putin nor Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov “have ever talked about closing the door to negotiations.”
