A study published on the global PrePrints website, and covering all research contributions related to publications focused on blockchain technology, stated that Khalifa University of Science and Technology is among the most research institutions issuing such research, as four researchers were included in the list of the best distinguished researchers in this field in the whole world. Blockchain technology provides a record of immutable or tamper-proof data, as each record is made up of a series of data and each chain is linked to all the parties that deal with it through a common platform.
The results of the study concluded that during a period of 6 years of academic research, a total of 111 research papers were published, confirming that the UAE is one of the most productive countries for this research, especially since 12 research papers were published by Khalifa University. The results of this study confirm the importance of the effective role of Khalifa University of Science and Technology as an institution characterized by advanced knowledge and efficiency in the field of blockchain solutions that can be shared with the industrial sector to enhance the progress process in this field, and contribute to building a knowledge economy in the UAE.
With regard to academic research contributions in the field of Blockchain, the study showed that Khalifa University is the most accomplished and contributing university in this field, as it submitted 12 research papers, two of which came in the list of the top 10 research papers in citation globally, and four research papers are among the top 20 international papers. In light of Khalifa University’s focus on conducting research in this field, the study also confirmed the effective participation of the university, which was represented by submitting a minimum of one research project in each of the Oracle application categories, in addition to conducting research that addresses Oracle’s challenges. In addition, four researchers from Khalifa University were selected among the top 19 distinguished researchers, including doctoral student Hamda Al-Buraiki, who ranked fifth as the best research writer in the field of research related to Oracle and Blockchain, while Master of Science student Ammar Battah ranked eleventh. Muhammad Musa Madian, a postgraduate researcher, ranked 13.
Dr. Khaled Salah, Professor in the Department of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science at Khalifa University, said: “Blockchain technology is a modern technology and a transformative technology characterized by the potential for development, and from this point of view, our inclusion in the list of the best researchers in the world is a great achievement for the university.” In terms of research carried out by Khalifa University in this field, two research papers focused on the healthcare sector, highlighting the safe control of patient records.

Khalifa University’s research has also focused on the methodology for making use of IoT data confidentially, by giving users various data access privileges and offering development plans in the IoT sector. In the field of cloud computing, the Khalifa University research is the only research that addresses the problem of ensuring an optimal level of fees to balance the needs of cloud service providers and users.
