Kadokawa, which is known to gamers mainly as FromSoftware’s parent company, announced in a recent meeting that it has decided to forge a strategic alliance with Tencent, a Chinese company extremely active in the gaming world.
The official document reads: “The company aims for sustainable growth in the medium and long term and increasing its business value by promoting a Global Media Mix focused on the constant creation and broad global deployment of a rich and unique collection of intellectual property (IP ) made up of a diverse portfolio of books, live-action movies, anime, games and User Generated Content (UGC) platforms. As part of this, the company considers one of its biggest challenges to be, in addition to business domains such as books and animation where it has already proven its strength, strengthen the global development of IP and game publishing capabilities in the global market. ”
It therefore appears that Kadokawa wants to be increasingly active in the publication of games (and not only) and that this partnership with Tencent aims to strengthen these plans.
Talking about FromSoftware and Elden Ring: we remind you that the release date has been postponed and the closed beta announced.
