Juventus-Milan 0-0 thanks to Sportiello
At the Allianz Stadium the final result was 0-0, at the end of a less than spectacular match and with the two teams evidently having nothing left to ask of their championship but still exciting. Pioli’s Rossoneri obviously remain in second place, rising to 70 points, followed by Allegri’s men five points behind. The Bianconeri will now have to pay attention to the pressure from Bologna which, in the event of success against Udinese, could incredibly catch them in the standings.
The first half of the game it’s not particularly brilliant, played on bland rhythms and with very little emotion. The only real opportunity before the break came from Vlahovic in full recoverywith the Serbian taking a free kick from the edge of the area: the former Fiorentina player’s left-footed shot bounces in front of Sportiello, who however does well not to be surprised and deflects it into a corner. At the beginning of the second half the Rossoneri goalkeeper takes charge again, making himself the protagonist of a nice double savefirst on Kostic’s attempt and then on Danilo’s rebound.
Milan tries to shake themselves up and in the 66th minute they look towards Szczesny, scared by a shot from outside by Loftus-Cheek, ended just wide after a break on the restart by Leao. In the 73rd minute another good chance for Juve thanks to the newly introduced Chiesa and Milik: the blue winger breaks through to the left and crosses to the center for the Pole, whose header is blocked again by an attentive Sportiello. In the final, however, the Rossoneri goalkeeper risks the omelette due to the only uncertainty of the matchletting an apparently harmless ball slip away after a header from Mckennie, with Thiaw making up for his mistake by saving a tap-in from Rabiot’s scrum on the line. From the next corner Milik tries again with his head, narrowly missing the target and thus missing the last chance of the match.
Viking Juve ask for Allegri’s confirmation with a long banner: “With you at the World Cup”
The Juventus Curva sends a message of affection to Massimiliano Allegri. Viking Juve, one of the historic ultra groups of the Old Lady, asked for the Juventus coach to remain through a long banner displayed outside the Allianz Stadium: “Mister Allegri you have to stay, we want to go to the World Cup with you!”.
During the match, the Juventus forward also sang a chant for Allegri. Although, according to what Sportmediaset reports, “a large part of the stadium dissociated themselves by whistling. The coach’s permanence on the Juventus bench is in doubt, with many rumors surrounding Thiago Motta.”
