“All indications are that the scheme somehow started,” Boris Johnson said in an interview broadcast by the BBC.
He continued, “According to the intelligence that we have, the Russian invasion will take place not only from the east, but also from the north, from Belarus, with the aim of encircling (the Ukrainian capital) Kiev, as (US President) Joe Biden explained to a number of us.”
“People should realize the cost of this in terms of human lives, not only from the Ukrainian side, but also from the Russian side,” he added, according to Agence France-Presse.
During the Munich Security Conference, the British Prime Minister, on Saturday, called on Westerners to “unite” and stressed the “shock” that Russia’s invasion of Ukraine would leave on the world.
He also noted that the sanctions that Britain would impose on Russia in the event of an attack on Ukraine would “make it impossible for Moscow to access the financial markets in London.”.
