The governor of São Paulo, João Doria, is the winner of the Brazilian Social Democracy Party (PSDB) preliminaries and will be a candidate for the Presidency of the Republic in 2022. The result was announced this Saturday (27) by Bruno Araújo, president of the party .
The preliminary voting ended at 5 pm, after 30,000 PSDB members voted to decide between Doria, Eduardo Leite (governor of Rio Grande do Sul) and Arthur Virgílio, former mayor of Manaus.
The president of the PSDB, Bruno Araújo, declared: “Today, in any situation, the PSDB has built national leaders that will help us guide this entire process.” In a clear attitude of trying to unify the legend, he continued: “The biggest winner today is democracy. Non-winners are as admired by us as the winner.”
