Javier Fernández, the ‘goal singer’, breaks silence, gives details of his departure from Win Sports and sends a message to the channel

Juan Carlos Penapresident of Win Sports, confirmed Fernández’s departure to EL TIEMPO at the time and explained the reasons.

“There is a general restructuring in the programming and content of the channel that I hope, very soon, you will see on the air. We are looking for new synergies between the companies’ talents and dynamics that include greater availability and elasticity in the different analog and digital channels,” he said. Grief.

Well, this Tuesday the Singer broke his silence and told his version of his departure from the channel.

​“I confirm that the previous Wednesday I was surprised with the communication that the directors of Win Sports had decided to terminate my employment contract,” commented the Singer in his story.

“This decision by the company puts an end to five years of constant dedication and full willingness on my part to provide my services. This decision is the exercise of the employers’ power to decide how long they want to have a talent. I practice my profession in a public and well-known manner. Colombians know my profession,” added Fernández.

The Singer wished Win success and stated that he is still active narrating matches for the Colombian National Team.

“I hope it goes very well because Win has spectacular professionals and I wish them to continue moving forward and improve things in different aspects, because it is the sports channel of our country. We will continue singing, the Copa América and the qualifiers are coming…” , he finished.

Fernández had arrived at Win Sports in 2019, after leaving Gol Caracol, and had become the channel’s flagship reporter, alongside Eduardo Luis López and Jotas Mantilla. The group was then complemented with the hiring of Tito Puccetti.

Subsequently, RCN brought Fernández together again with Carlos Antonio Vélez, with whom he had been a partner for many years, before the former’s move to Caracol, and they became the official group of the channel to broadcast the games of the Colombian National Team, when they acquired rights.
