The contracts with the candidates of the current suspended season of The Voice of Holland and The Voice Kids are modified. The talents can now simply release music or, for example, join a record label, a spokesperson for producer ITV confirms after reporting this from RTL Boulevard.
,,We understand that for talents the importance and the possibilities to develop further in their musical career is very important. ITV Studios therefore has certain provisions in the contracts of the talents of The Voice and The Voice Kids revised and removed from the current season,” said an ITV statement.
Contestants were always free to perform during a season. “And now talents are also free to enter into exclusive agreements within the contract, release music, join a record label, enter into (commercial) agreements and participate in other television programs and talent shows.”
The talents are asked to adhere to the confidentiality clause. So they are not allowed to say what stage of the show they have come to.
ITV is meeting current participants with the revision of the contracts. A few expressed their concerns earlier this week because they couldn’t do anything under their contract. The Voice of Holland was shut down last month because the BNNVARA program Boos made a broadcast about abuses behind the scenes.
