The dam of the Kakhovskaya hydroelectric power station will be restored, since irrigation of the south of the Kherson region depends on it, said the head of the Novokakhovsky district Vitaly Gura. Writes about this RIA News.
“The dam will be restored – that’s all, and the work will begin. I think this can be done within two years,” he emphasized.
The Kakhovskaya hydroelectric power station was damaged on the night of June 6. As a result of numerous impacts, the dam support was damaged, after which the areas began to flood.
The Kremlin blamed Kyiv for the incident. Press Secretary of the Russian President Dmitry Peskov called this a deliberate sabotage by the Ukrainian side. In turn, the head of Ukraine Vladimir Zelensky regarded the incident as ecocide.
