“China condemns all acts that harm civilians and opposes any violation of international law“Wang Yi said in a press conference, but he emphasized Palestine, underlining that China will deliver humanitarian aid to the Gaza Strip and the Palestinian National Authority through the UN.
On the other hand, he listed the priorities that he considers pressing in the midst of the conflict: the first, stopping the fighting; the second, respect international humanitarian law (IHL) and make way for humanitarian assistance to avoid a serious humanitarian disaster; the third, adopt a fair position and work to de-escalate the conflict; and, finally, that the UN assumes its role and seeks international consensus.

In that sense, The minister indicated that China will do the same, so it is communicating with the relevant partieswill actively participate in UN Security Council consultations and support Secretary-General Antonio Guterres’ call to protect civilians.
On the other hand, Wang Yi mentioned that: “The root cause of this issue lies in the long delay in realizing the dream of an independent State of Palestine and the failure to redress the historical injustice suffered by the Palestinian people.”
He stressed that both Israel and Palestine have the right to statehoodbut questioned whether Israelis have safeguards for their survival, while Palestinians do not.

“Who will care about the survival of the Palestinians? The Jewish nation is no longer homeless in the world, but when will the Palestinian nation return to its home? There is no shortage of injustice in the world, but the injustice against Palestine has continued for more than half a century,” he demanded.
Finally, the minister maintained that the only way to solve the current crisis in the Middle East is resume peace talks and ensure that both Israel and Palestine are independent states.
“Only when the two-state solution is fully implemented can the Middle East truly enjoy peace and Israel enjoy lasting security. The right way forward on the two-state solution is to resume peace talks as soon as possible. All peace mechanisms must play a positive role,” he concluded.
While this is happening, China called for holding an international peace conference.
