The Islamic State launched a call this Thursday night to its followers to commit “individual attacks” against Christians and Jews in Israel, Europe and the United States. The jihadist organization made this message public, where it urges the “lone lions” to attack from now until the end of Ramadan, in response to the Gaza conflict and the existence of thousands of Muslim victims in the Strip.
The group's spokesman, Abu Hudhayfa al Ansari, praised the massacre committed last Friday at the Crocus City Hall concert hall, on the western outskirts of Moscow, where a commando machine-gunned the attendees and set fire to the building with incendiary bombs. The attack left 143 people dead and another 200 injured.
Russian security forces have so far detained eleven people allegedly linked to the massacre. Four of them have been brought before a court this week as alleged perpetrators of the shooting. All of them showed obvious signs of torture, in what has been interpreted in Western media as a message from the Kremlin to those who intend to attack Russian citizens or interests.
The Islamic State message was spread in Arabic through the propaganda channels usually used by this jihadist group. Its authenticity has been confirmed by international terrorism experts. Al-Ansari declares in the audio that it is a “reminder message” to Muslims and compares the death of thousands of Palestinians in Gaza under Israeli bombs with “what the brothers in Syria and Libya suffered twice a few years ago.” , Iraq, the Sinai and Yemen.
