The spokesman for the terrorist group Islamic State (IS), Abu Huzaifa al Ansari, called this Thursday (28) for attacks in Europe and the United States to “support” Muslims in the war in Gaza and congratulated those responsible for the attack on last Friday at a concert hall in Russia.
In a 41-minute voice message broadcast on the Telegram platform and whose authenticity could not be verified, the spokesperson sent a “message of remembrance” to the Islamists. He said what is being done to Muslims in Gaza is “what the brothers in Syria, Libya, Iraq, Sinai [Egito] and Yemen suffered twice as much a few years ago.”
“We thank the soldiers of the caliphate for their efforts and ask Allah that they can reach the lands of Palestine to fight the Jews face to face, in a religious war that ends them all. In this regard, we call on the lone lions to target Jews and Crusaders everywhere, especially in the United States and Europe,” he said in the Arabic message released by the group's propaganda organ, Al Furqan.
The message was released on the occasion of the Muslim holy month of Ramadan and to commemorate ten years since the establishment of the self-proclaimed “caliphate”, to be completed at the end of June, by the first leader of the terrorist group, Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi.
The spokesperson classified the war in Gaza as a “Muslim wound”, in which the fight is necessary, “and not just themes and slogans”.
“And the fight against the Jews is not complete without the fight against their allies: the infidels and the crusaders everywhere. Based on this, we began the united invasion, launched to support our families in Gaza and which represents brotherhood among the faithful,” he said.
Ansari thus reiterated a message released on January 4, in which he had called for attacks on the United States, Europe and the entire world, without “distinction between atheists, civilians or military”.
He stated that, after the attack committed in Iran in January, one of the worst in the country's history and which killed more than 90 people, the Islamic State targeted “Russia, the crusade”, a term the group uses to designate the Christians.
The spokesman called the attack in Moscow “a bloody attack by a pride of lions of the caliphate” to “avenge Muslims and discipline infidels.”
The jihadist group claimed responsibility for the attack on the Crocus City Hall concert hall, 20 kilometers from the center of Moscow, where 143 people died.
“We do not need to give legitimate explanations when attacking a country that has always fought against Muslims before and now. And we continue to capture and kill your soldiers in Syria, and previously shot down your plane in Sinai,” the message adds.
The spokesperson made mention of Russia's intervention in the war in Syria since 2015, as well as the downing, claimed by IS, of the Russian Metrojet plane traveling from the Egyptian city of Sharm el-Sheikh to Saint Petersburg, that same year, the balance of which was more than 220 dead.
