A couple of months ago, Capcom revealed exoprimal, a new competitive game that combines elements of PvE and PvP. However, during the two events where we had the opportunity to see more about this project, the Japanese company did not answer some of the questions that many fans have. Thus, the producer of this installment has finally revealed whether or not there is a relationship with Dino Crisis.
In a chat with IGN, Ichiro Kiyokawa, producer of this title, made it clear that exoprimal not related to Dino Crisis. Along with this, it was confirmed that this is a full-price experience that will come both physically and digitally, and not free-to-play, as many thought. This is what he mentioned about it:
“Exoprimal is not free; is a full price release that will be available both on disc and digitally.
No, the game is unique and has nothing to do with Dino Crisis.”
Exoprimal is a game that combines PvP and PvE elements, where two teams compete to fulfill different objects, all this while fighting, not only among themselves, but also having to deal with hordes of dinosaurs, and there’s even talk of a Monster Hunter-inspired experience. This was what Kiyokawa mentioned:
“Our initial concept was that we wanted to challenge ourselves to create a satisfying action feel that was different from previous Capcom titles. Instead of a game like Monster Hunter, where you face a single powerful enemy, we felt that the experience of facing and defeating a huge horde of enemies had the appeal and potential to be the basis of a new IP. We also thought it would be great to share that experience with others online, and thus the basic concept of Exoprimal was born.”
For now, exoprimal does not have a specific release date, but It will be available on PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S and PC sometime in 2023. In related topics, here you can see the new gameplay of this title.
Editor’s note:
Although the reveal of this game did not convince me, the new gameplay presents a couple of interesting ideas, as well as a number of fun games. There is still a long way to go to prove it, but at least it looks like there is potential here. It all depends on the community.
