Iron Lynx continues to churn out news every day and today's news is its participation in the 2024 season of the European Le Mans Series, for the first time with an LMP2.
The volcanic team directed by Andrea Piccini, as is known already involved in the FIA WEC and IMSA with Lamborghini Squadra Corse taking care of the SC63 LMDh prototype, as well as in the various GT3 categories with the Hurácans, has recently also landed in rallies fielding three Ford Fiesta Rally2 in the French series.
For the ELMS there will still be a collaboration with Proton Competition, which has already started well in 2023 with the Porsche GTEs, and on the Oreca we will see Jonas Ried – son of Christian Ried, head of Proton – at work together with the official Lamborghini driver, Matteo Cairoli, and the young Frenchman Macéo Capietto, fresh from experiences in F4 and F.Regional.
Furthermore there will also be a Lamborghini Hurácan GT3 Evo 2 entered in the LMGT3 Class with Hiroshi Hamaguchi already confirmed on it, waiting to know the name of his companions.

“We are very happy to welcome Macéo to the team, he is a very talented driver and fits perfectly into our family – declared the CEO and Team Principal, Piccini – Despite his young age, he has already proven himself in the junior single-seater ranks and demonstrated his speed and ability in testing with our GT3 over the winter.”
“Completing our dynamic line-up is Matteo, who I am personally pleased to see in a further track commitment with the prototypes in 2024 to gain valuable experience for the LMDh program as well.”
“The two additions, along with Jonas, will form a strong lineup in ELMS this year. We have a fantastic and successful relationship with Proton Competition and I look forward to continuing this in 2024 and doing so with an LMP2 is a very exciting opportunity for all of us.”
