First modification:
This Wednesday, November 3, Iran and the European Union announced to reactivate the negotiations in Vienna to save the 2015 Nuclear Agreement. They will do so from next November 29, after five months of discussions paralyzed by the Iranian presidential elections.
The meeting on November 29 will be the seventh round of talks between Iran and six great powers (Russia, China, France, the United Kingdom, Germany and the United States -the latter indirectly-) to save the 2015 nuclear pact.
In April, the powers began to discuss ways to safeguard the Nuclear Agreement, which has been weakening since 2018, when former US President Donald Trump removed the country from the pact and reimposed economic sanctions on Iran.
Tehran responded by violating the mandatory limits on uranium enrichment in subsequent years: it began to enrich and produce uranium more than allowed in 2019, and, in this 2021, it has reached a level of 20%, a percentage less than the 90% necessary to develop an atomic bomb.
In June, negotiations stopped before the Iranian presidential elections and the new government of ultra-conservative President Ebrahim Raisi is expected to take a tough stance in late November in Vienna.

The tense relationship between Iran and the United States
With the coming to power of the current US president, Joe Biden, the first contacts between the two countries began, after a particularly tense relationship between Washington and Tehran in the Trump era, although with Biden the relationship has remained distant and challenging.
Biden said last week that he wants to return to the Iran deal, as long as Tehran abides by it. He said it in a meeting with the leaders of Germany, France and the United Kingdom in the framework of the G20 summit in Rome.
From Iran, they insist that it was the United States that abandoned the pact and assure that it is necessary to lift the economic sanctions that Washington began to apply against Tehran with the Trump government so that there can be progress in the negotiations.
The six rounds of negotiations held to date have been indirect, with diplomats, mainly Europeans, moving between US and Iranian officials, Iran refusing to maintain direct contact with the United States.
The reunion will be on November 29 in Vienna
The European External Action Service (SEAE) reported that Enrique Mora, deputy secretary general of the institution, will preside, on behalf of the head of European diplomacy, Josep Borrell, the meeting.
