The Investigative Committee (IC) charged the ex-chief physician of the Chukotka regional hospital, the former chairman of the Chukotka Duma, Alexander Maslov, with abuse of office. About this on Thursday, December 9, reported on the website of the regional department.
According to the investigation, “in the period from 2019 to 2021, the accused, exceeding his official powers, single-handedly made unlawful decisions on encouraging and rewarding himself as chairman of the Chukotka Autonomous Okrug Duma in amounts significantly exceeding those established for him, and also issued illegal orders on the establishment and payment of quarterly and annual bonuses to oneself based on the results of work, decisions on the appointment of which have not been made. “
It is noted that due to the unlawful actions of the official, the budget of the Chukotka Autonomous Okrug suffered property damage in the amount of more than 8.9 million rubles.
The accused has been detained, and now the issue of his detention is being decided. The investigation of the criminal case continues.
Earlier on the same day, the Investigative Committee asked to detain Maslov in the case of abuse of power.
The initiator of the criminal case, State Duma Deputy Alexander Khinshtein, confirmed in his Telegram channel that Maslov was detained on Wednesday while trying to fly to Moscow from Anadyr.
According to the defense, the investigation believes that the ex-chairman of the Duma is going to hide from law enforcement officers. At the same time, the lawyer emphasized that the client had duly notified the investigator of the need to leave Chukotka.
Khinshtein claims that Maslov illegally received additional money from the Pension Fund of the Russian Federation, while not being a non-working pensioner. As a result, the amount of damage from the unlawful actions of the ex-chairman of the Duma amounted to more than 1.1 million rubles. Also, according to the deputy, the fictitious release of Maslov from his deputy duties allowed him to illegally receive almost 2.5 million rubles in compensation for his dismissal.
