Three doctors of the Galician Servizo de Saúde (Sergas), two psychiatrists and a pharmacist are among the 16 people investigated within a network dedicated to the traffic of an anxiolytic drug, the rivotril (commercial name of the clonazepam), in which there is a detainee. The Civil Guard carried out an intervention in the early hours Hachish, according to the newspaper Vigo lighthouse. The result is a drug called Karkubi.
The subdelegate of the Government in Pontevedra, Abel Losada, expressed his special concern for the alleged involvement of doctors of Sergas who work in health centers of Cangas and Vigo, in addition to several pharmacies. He confirmed that in the registry this Thursday in the Cangas building there was a detainee. The operation is being directed by the Court of Instruction number 2 of Cangas.
Vigo Faro’s information indicates that the operation started in 2022 with the arrest of a Moaña influencer and the investigation of eight pharmacies, of which one was in this municipality, another in Cangas and the remaining six in the city of Pontevedra. With the arrest that the Civil Guard considers the leader of the network, the group is dismantled. The agents concluded in his investigation that this man, who had prescribed the rivotril, not only consumed it, but also delivered some pills to minors in exchange for other drugs and also sold a part to achieve income.
It was the role of pharmacies that began investigations in 2022. Agents detected alleged irregularities in the sale of the drug in several establishments in the province of Pontevedra. In one of them, located in Cangas, the medicine was given to minors without providing the necessary documentation. Last year, the Civil Guard concluded that three doctors of Sergas, two psychiatrists and a pharmacist were also participating in the network to traffic with the drug. According to the investigation, there were patients for whom the amount of the medication they were scheduled reached 6,000 pills, that is, more than 16 per day.
